Numerous files, folders and Windows registry data can not be deleted when you are trying to remove UpToDate from your computer.

The files below remain on your disk by UpToDate's application uninstaller when you removed it:

• C:\Program Files (x86)\UpToDate\app\UpToDate.exe
• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\AOL\C_AOL Desktop 9.7\browserCache\Local Storage\http_www.uptodate.com_0.localstorage

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following keys will not be uninstalled; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:

• HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JavaSoft\Prefs\com.uptodate.localapp.desktop./Utd/Desktop
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\UpToDate

Open regedit.exe in order to remove the following values:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Program Files (x86)\UpToDate\app\UpToDate.exe

A way to uninstall UpToDate with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

UpToDate is a program released by UpToDate®, Inc.. Sometimes, users decide to uninstall it. 3. Press the General Tools category


4. Press the Uninstall Programs feature


5. A list of the applications installed on the computer will be shown to you

6. Navigate the list of applications until you find UpToDate or simply activate the Search field and type in "UpToDate". The UpToDate application will be found automatically. Notice that when you select UpToDate in the list of apps, the following information regarding the application is available to you:

• Star rating (in the left lower corner). This explains the opinion other users have regarding UpToDate, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Reviews by other users - Press the Read reviews button.
• Technical information regarding the app you wish to uninstall, by pressing the Properties button.

For example you can see that for UpToDate:

• The publisher is: http://www.uptodate.com
• The uninstall string is: C:\Program Files (x86)\UpToDate\Uninstaller.exe

7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation page will appear. accept the removal by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically remove UpToDate.


8. After removing UpToDate, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run a cleanup. Press Next to start the cleanup. All the items of UpToDate which have been left behind will be detected and you will be able to delete them. By removing UpToDate with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no registry items, files or directories are left behind on your PC.
