How to uninstall PostgreSQL from your computer

PostgreSQL is a Windows application. Keep in mind that this location can differ being determined by the user's preference. PostgreSQL's entire uninstall command line is C:\Program Files\2ndQuadrant\PostgreSQL\Uninstall9.5.exe. postgres.exe is the PostgreSQL's primary executable file and it takes circa 5.78 MB (6057472 bytes) on disk.

How to erase PostgreSQL from your computer with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

PostgreSQL is a program marketed by the software company 2ndQuadrant. Sometimes, computer users decide to uninstall this program. Sometimes this is hard because performing this by hand requires some know-how regarding Windows program uninstallation. The best EASY practice to uninstall PostgreSQL is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is how to do this:

  • download the program by pressing the DOWNLOAD button
  • set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take some time to get familiar with the program's design and number of features available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very useful Windows optimizer.

3. Click on the General Tools button

4. Activate the Uninstall Programs tool

5. All the programs existing on your computer will appear

6. Scroll the list of programs until you find PostgreSQL or simply click the Search feature and type in "PostgreSQL". The PostgreSQL app will be found very quickly. Notice that after you click PostgreSQL in the list , some information about the program is made available to you:


  • Safety rating (in the lower left corner). This explains the opinion other users have about PostgreSQL, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other users - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Details about the application you are about to uninstall, by pressing the Properties button.
7. Click the Uninstall button. A window asking you to confirm will come up. Confirm the removal by pressing Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then uninstall PostgreSQL.

8. After uninstalling PostgreSQL, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Press Next to perform the cleanup. All the items that belong PostgreSQL that have been left behind will be detected and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By uninstalling PostgreSQL with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no registry entries, files or folders are left behind on your PC.
