How to uninstall McAfee® from your system

If you are manually uninstalling McAfee® we advise you to check if the following data is left behind on your PC.

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following keys will not be removed; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\McAfee.WPS

Supplementary registry values that are not removed:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\mc-wps-update\ImagePath

A way to remove McAfee® from your PC with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

McAfee® is an application released by McAfee, LLC. Sometimes, users want to remove it. This is troublesome because removing this by hand requires some experience related to removing Windows applications by hand. 2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take your time to admire Advanced Uninstaller PRO's interface and wealth of features available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very useful system utility.

3. Click on the General Tools button


4. Activate the Uninstall Programs button


5. A list of the applications installed on the PC will be shown to you

6. Navigate the list of applications until you find McAfee® or simply click the Search field and type in "McAfee®". If it exists on your system the McAfee® program will be found very quickly. Notice that when you select McAfee® in the list of applications, the following data regarding the program is shown to you:

• Star rating (in the lower left corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other people have regarding McAfee®, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Opinions by other people - Click on the Read reviews button.
• Details regarding the app you are about to uninstall, by pressing the Properties button.

7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will come up. Confirm the uninstall by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically uninstall McAfee®.


8. After uninstalling McAfee®, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run an additional cleanup. Click Next to start the cleanup. All the items that belong McAfee® which have been left behind will be found and you will be able to delete them. By removing McAfee® with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no registry items, files or directories are left behind on your computer.
