A guide to uninstall LiveUpdate from your system

  • HotKeyService.exe (156.88 KB)
  • UpdateSelf.exe (2.11 MB)

A way to uninstall LiveUpdate from your PC with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

LiveUpdate is a program offered by ASUSTeK Computer Inc.. Some people want to remove this program. This can be difficult because doing this manually takes some experience related to Windows internal functioning. The best EASY way to remove LiveUpdate is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your Windows PC, add it. This is a good step because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is an efficient uninstaller and all around tool to take care of your Windows computer.

  • download the program by clicking on the DOWNLOAD button
  • set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take your time to admire the program's interface and number of features available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a powerful system optimizer.

3. Click on the General Tools category

4. Click on the Uninstall Programs tool

5. A list of the applications installed on the computer will appear

6. Navigate the list of applications until you find LiveUpdate or simply click the Search feature and type in "LiveUpdate". If it exists on your system the LiveUpdate program will be found very quickly. When you click LiveUpdate in the list , some information about the program is shown to you:


  • Star rating (in the lower left corner). This explains the opinion other users have about LiveUpdate, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other users - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Details about the program you want to uninstall, by clicking on the Properties button.

  • The publisher is: http://www.asus.com
  • The uninstall string is: C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{1FDA3227-D863-47B8-A13C-0D0EE54FAAEF}\setup.exe
7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation page will show up. accept the removal by pressing Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will remove LiveUpdate.

8. After uninstalling LiveUpdate, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run an additional cleanup. Click Next to proceed with the cleanup. All the items that belong LiveUpdate that have been left behind will be detected and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By uninstalling LiveUpdate using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no Windows registry items, files or folders are left behind on your system.

Your Windows PC will remain clean, speedy and ready to serve you properly.
