A way to uninstall HexChat from your computer

HexChat is a Windows application. A considerable amount of files, folders and registry entries can not be removed when you remove HexChat from your computer.

You should delete the folders below after you uninstall HexChat:

• C:\Program Files (x86)\HexChat
• C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\HexChat

Files remaining:

• C:\Program Files (x86)\HexChat\atk-1.0.dll
• C:\Program Files (x86)\HexChat\cairo.dll
• C:\Program Files (x86)\HexChat\fontconfig.dll
• C:\Program Files (x86)\HexChat\gdk_pixbuf-2.0.dll

Use regedit.exe to manually remove from the Windows Registry the keys below:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\HexChat_is1

Open regedit.exe in order to delete the following registry values:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.hct\DefaultIcon\
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.hct\shell\open\command\
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\irc\DefaultIcon\
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\irc\shell\open\command\
