A guide to uninstall CMake from your PC

CMake is a Windows application. Read below about how to uninstall it from your PC. The Windows version was developed by Kitware. You can read more on Kitware or check for application updates here. More data about the app CMake can be seen at . CMake is typically installed in the C:\Program Files\CMake folder, however this location can vary a lot depending on the user's decision while installing the program. The full command line for removing CMake is MsiExec.exe /X{3C2E9856-CA77-4A50-828F-AF43DD8AF93D}. Note that if you will type this command in Start / Run Note you might get a notification for admin rights. The application's main executable file is called cmake.exe and occupies 8.17 MB (8570512 bytes).

CMake is composed of the following executables which take 44.79 MB (46969552 bytes) on disk:

  • cmake-gui.exe (19.11 MB)
  • cmake.exe (8.17 MB)
  • cmcldeps.exe (1.03 MB)
  • cpack.exe (7.90 MB)
  • ctest.exe (8.58 MB)

How to erase CMake from your computer with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

CMake is a program marketed by the software company Kitware. Sometimes, users want to remove this application. Sometimes this is difficult because uninstalling this by hand requires some skill regarding PCs. The best EASY solution to remove CMake is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here are some detailed instructions about how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO on your PC, install it. This is a good step because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very efficient uninstaller and all around utility to clean your system.

  • go to Download Link
  • download the program by clicking on the green DOWNLOAD NOW button
  • set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take some time to get familiar with Advanced Uninstaller PRO's interface and wealth of functions available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a powerful system utility.

3. Press the General Tools category

4. Activate the Uninstall Programs feature

5. A list of the applications existing on your computer will be shown to you

6. Scroll the list of applications until you locate CMake or simply click the Search field and type in "CMake". If it exists on your system the CMake application will be found very quickly. Notice that after you select CMake in the list of applications, the following data regarding the application is made available to you:


  • Safety rating (in the lower left corner). This tells you the opinion other people have regarding CMake, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Reviews by other people - Press the Read reviews button.
  • Details regarding the application you wish to remove, by clicking on the Properties button.

7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will show up. accept the removal by pressing the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then remove CMake.

8. After removing CMake, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Press Next to start the cleanup. All the items of CMake that have been left behind will be found and you will be able to delete them. By uninstalling CMake with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no registry items, files or folders are left behind on your system.

Your PC will remain clean, speedy and able to serve you properly.
