A way to uninstall CMake from your PC

CMake is a Windows application. Read below about how to remove it from your computer. It is written by Kitware. More data about Kitware can be read here. Please follow if you want to read more on CMake on Kitware's page. CMake is typically set up in the C:\Program Files\CMake folder, subject to the user's option. The full command line for uninstalling CMake is MsiExec.exe /X{E513970D-92A1-4E86-B962-85D1671ECEFC}. Keep in mind that if you will type this command in Start / Run Note you might get a notification for admin rights. cmake.exe is the CMake's main executable file and it takes about 8.85 MB (9275944 bytes) on disk.

CMake is composed of the following executables which take 48.01 MB (50341064 bytes) on disk:

  • cmake-gui.exe (19.72 MB)
  • cmake.exe (8.85 MB)
  • cmcldeps.exe (1.06 MB)
  • cpack.exe (8.82 MB)
  • ctest.exe (9.56 MB)

How to erase CMake with the help of Advanced Uninstaller PRO

CMake is a program released by Kitware. Some people choose to uninstall it. This can be easier said than done because doing this by hand requires some know-how regarding Windows program uninstallation. One of the best SIMPLE manner to uninstall CMake is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO on your PC, install it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is one of the best uninstaller and general tool to clean your system.

  • go to Download Link
  • download the setup by pressing the green DOWNLOAD button
  • set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take some time to admire the program's interface and number of tools available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a powerful PC management program.

3. Click on the General Tools category

4. Activate the Uninstall Programs tool

5. All the programs installed on your computer will be shown to you

6. Scroll the list of programs until you find CMake or simply activate the Search feature and type in "CMake". If it exists on your system the CMake program will be found automatically. Notice that after you select CMake in the list of programs, the following data regarding the application is available to you:


  • Star rating (in the left lower corner). This tells you the opinion other users have regarding CMake, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other users - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Technical information regarding the application you want to uninstall, by pressing the Properties button.

7. Click the Uninstall button. A window asking you to confirm will appear. accept the uninstall by pressing the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will remove CMake.

8. After uninstalling CMake, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Press Next to go ahead with the cleanup. All the items of CMake which have been left behind will be detected and you will be able to delete them. By removing CMake using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no registry entries, files or directories are left behind on your PC.

Your system will remain clean, speedy and ready to take on new tasks.
