A way to uninstall Bitcoin from your computer

Bitcoin is a Windows application. Read more about how to remove it from your PC. The Windows version was created by Bitcoin project. Further information on Bitcoin project can be found here. More details about the program Bitcoin can be found at . Bitcoin is frequently set up in the C:\Program Files\Bitcoin directory, but this location may vary a lot depending on the user's option when installing the application. The full command line for uninstalling Bitcoin is C:\Program Files\Bitcoin\uninstall.exe. Note that if you will type this command in Start / Run Note you may receive a notification for administrator rights. The application's main executable file is labeled bitcoin-qt.exe and its approximative size is 24.00 MB (25163264 bytes).

Bitcoin is comprised of the following executables which occupy 43.42 MB (45531534 bytes) on disk:

How to remove Bitcoin from your PC using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

Bitcoin is a program offered by Bitcoin project. Some people want to remove this application. Sometimes this can be difficult because uninstalling this by hand requires some know-how regarding removing Windows applications by hand. One of the best SIMPLE way to remove Bitcoin is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO on your Windows PC, add it. This is a good step because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is an efficient uninstaller and all around utility to take care of your Windows system.

  • navigate to Download Link
  • download the setup by clicking on the green DOWNLOAD button
  • set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take your time to get familiar with the program's design and wealth of functions available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good program.

3. Click on the General Tools category

4. Press the Uninstall Programs tool

5. All the applications installed on your computer will be made available to you

6. Navigate the list of applications until you find Bitcoin or simply activate the Search field and type in "Bitcoin". The Bitcoin application will be found automatically. Notice that after you click Bitcoin in the list of applications, some information regarding the program is shown to you:


  • Star rating (in the lower left corner). The star rating explains the opinion other people have regarding Bitcoin, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Reviews by other people - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Technical information regarding the app you want to remove, by clicking on the Properties button.

  • The uninstall string is: C:\Program Files\Bitcoin\uninstall.exe
7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation page will come up. accept the uninstall by pressing Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then uninstall Bitcoin.

8. After removing Bitcoin, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Press Next to perform the cleanup. All the items that belong Bitcoin which have been left behind will be detected and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By uninstalling Bitcoin with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no registry entries, files or folders are left behind on your system.

Your PC will remain clean, speedy and able to take on new tasks.
