Android Studio has the habit of leaving behind some leftovers.

Usually, the following files remain on disk:
  • C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\AppIconCache\100\{6D809377-6AF0-444B-8957-A3773F02200E}_Android_Android Studio_bin_studio64_exe

Use regedit.exe to manually remove from the Windows Registry the data below:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Android Studio
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Android Studio

Open regedit.exe to remove the values below from the Windows Registry:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Program Files\Android\Android Studio\bin\studio64.exe.ApplicationCompany
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Program Files\Android\Android Studio\bin\studio64.exe.FriendlyAppName


A way to uninstall Android Studio from your computer using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

Android Studio is an application by Google LLC. Sometimes, computer users want to remove this program.   • Safety rating (in the left lower corner). This tells you the opinion other people have about Android Studio, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other people - Press the Read reviews button.
  • Details about the program you are about to uninstall, by clicking on the Properties button.

7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will show up. Confirm the removal by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically remove Android Studio.
