How to uninstall X Codec Pack from your computer

X Codec Pack is a computer program. Following the uninstall process, the application leaves some files behind on the computer. Some of these are listed below.

Folders remaining:
  • C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Start Menu\Programs\X Codec Pack 2.7.1
  • C:\Program Files\X Codec Pack

Check for and delete the following files from your disk when you uninstall X Codec Pack:
  • C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Start Menu\Programs\X Codec Pack 2.7.1\Codec Detective.lnk
  • C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Start Menu\Programs\X Codec Pack 2.7.1\Configs\AC3 Filter.lnk
  • C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Start Menu\Programs\X Codec Pack 2.7.1\Configs\DirectVobSub.lnk
  • C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Start Menu\Programs\X Codec Pack 2.7.1\Licenses\APE.lnk

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following keys will not be removed; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.3gp
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.ac3
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.aif
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.asf

Use regedit.exe to remove the following additional values from the Windows Registry:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\3GP File\shell\edit\command\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\3GP File\shell\open\command\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AC3 File\shell\edit\command\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AC3 File\shell\open\command\
