After the uninstall process, the application leaves some files behind on the computer. Part_A few of these are shown below.

The files below were left behind on your disk by VMware Tools's application uninstaller when you removed it:

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following keys will not be uninstalled; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\C2A6F2EFE6910124C940B2B12CF170FE

Use regedit.exe to remove the following additional registry values from the Windows Registry:

A way to uninstall VMware Tools from your PC using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

VMware Tools is a program by the software company VMware, Inc.. Some people decide to remove this program. Sometimes this can be troublesome because performing this by hand requires some know-how related to removing Windows programs manually. One of the best EASY approach to remove VMware Tools is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take the following steps on how to do this:

2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take your time to admire the program's interface and number of features available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very useful Windows optimizer.

3. Click on the General Tools button

5. All the applications installed on the PC will be made available to you

6. Navigate the list of applications until you locate VMware Tools or simply activate the Search feature and type in "VMware Tools". If it is installed on your PC the VMware Tools application will be found automatically. Notice that when you click VMware Tools in the list of apps, the following information regarding the application is available to you:


  • Star rating (in the lower left corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other people have regarding VMware Tools, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Reviews by other people - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Details regarding the application you wish to remove, by pressing the Properties button.

7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will appear. accept the removal by clicking the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically uninstall VMware Tools.

8. After uninstalling VMware Tools, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run an additional cleanup. Click Next to proceed with the cleanup. All the items that belong VMware Tools which have been left behind will be found and you will be able to delete them. By removing VMware Tools with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no registry entries, files or directories are left behind on your disk.
