If planning to uninstall VMware Player you should check if the following data is left behind on your PC.

Generally, the following files remain on disk:
  • C:\Windows\Installer\{A53A11EA-0095-493F-86FA-A15E8A86A405}\ARP.ico1

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following data will not be uninstalled; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VMware, Inc.\VMware Player
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{A53A11EA-0095-493F-86FA-A15E8A86A405}
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\VMware, Inc.\VMware Player

Use regedit.exe to remove the following additional registry values from the Windows Registry:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\Folders\C:\Windows\Installer\{A53A11EA-0095-493F-86FA-A15E8A86A405}\

How to remove VMware Player from your computer using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

VMware Player is a program offered by VMware, Inc.. Some people try to erase this application. 2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take your time to get familiar with Advanced Uninstaller PRO's design and wealth of tools available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good system utility.

3. Press the General Tools button

5. A list of the programs existing on the computer will be made available to you

6. Scroll the list of programs until you find VMware Player or simply click the Search feature and type in "VMware Player". The VMware Player program will be found automatically. Notice that after you click VMware Player in the list of programs, the following data about the program is made available to you:


  • Star rating (in the lower left corner). The star rating explains the opinion other users have about VMware Player, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Reviews by other users - Press the Read reviews button.
  • Technical information about the application you are about to uninstall, by pressing the Properties button.

7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will show up. accept the removal by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then uninstall VMware Player.

All the items that belong VMware Player which have been left behind will be detected and you will be able to delete them.
