How to uninstall Uplay from your computer

This page is about Uplay for Windows. If you are manually uninstalling Uplay we suggest you to verify if the following data is left behind on your PC.

Folders that were left behind:

• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Ubisoft\Uplay

The files below were left behind on your disk when you remove Uplay:

• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Ubisoft\Uplay\Uninstall.lnk
• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Ubisoft\Uplay\Uplay.lnk

Use regedit.exe to manually remove from the Windows Registry the keys below:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\uplay
• HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ubisoft\Uplay
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Uplay

Open regedit.exe in order to delete the following values:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\Uplay.exe

How to uninstall Uplay from your computer using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

Uplay is an application released by the software company Ubisoft. Sometimes, users choose to remove this program. This can be troublesome because performing this by hand requires some experience regarding removing Windows programs manually. The best SIMPLE practice to remove Uplay is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take the following steps on how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO on your Windows PC, install it. This is a good step because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is the best uninstaller and general tool to take care of your Windows system.

• navigate to Download Link
• download the setup by pressing the green DOWNLOAD NOW button
• install Advanced Uninstaller PRO

2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take your time to get familiar with the program's interface and wealth of functions available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good package of utilities.

3. Click on the General Tools button


4. Press the Uninstall Programs feature


5. All the programs installed on the PC will be shown to you

6. Scroll the list of programs until you locate Uplay or simply click the Search feature and type in "Uplay". The Uplay program will be found very quickly. When you click Uplay in the list of apps, the following information about the program is shown to you:

• Safety rating (in the left lower corner). This explains the opinion other users have about Uplay, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Reviews by other users - Click on the Read reviews button.
• Technical information about the application you wish to remove, by pressing the Properties button.

7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation page will show up. accept the removal by pressing Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then uninstall Uplay.


8. After uninstalling Uplay, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run an additional cleanup. Press Next to go ahead with the cleanup. All the items that belong Uplay that have been left behind will be detected and you will be able to delete them. By uninstalling Uplay with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no registry items, files or directories are left behind on your system.
