If you are manually uninstalling TrueCrypt we recommend you to check if the following data is left behind on your PC.

Folders left behind when you uninstall TrueCrypt:
  • C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\TrueCrypt

Check for and delete the following files from your disk when you uninstall TrueCrypt:
  • C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\TrueCrypt\Configuration.xml

Generally the following registry data will not be uninstalled:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\TrueCrypt Format.exe
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\TrueCrypt.exe
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TrueCrypt
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Tracing\Ninite TrueCrypt WinRAR Installer_RASAPI32
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Tracing\Ninite TrueCrypt WinRAR Installer_RASMANCS
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\TrueCrypt
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\truecrypt

Use regedit.exe to delete the following additional values from the Windows Registry:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\truecrypt\DisplayName
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\truecrypt\ImagePath

6. Scroll the list of applications until you locate TrueCrypt or simply activate the Search field and type in "TrueCrypt". 7. Click the Uninstall button. A window asking you to confirm will appear. accept the uninstall by pressing the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will remove TrueCrypt.
