A guide to uninstall Spotify from your computer

Spotify is a Windows application. Spotify is comprised of the following executables which take 5.44 MB (5702856 bytes) on disk:

  • spotify.exe (4.27 MB)
  • SpotifyLauncher.exe (114.90 KB)
  • SpotifyWebHelper.exe (1.05 MB)

Many files, folders and registry data will not be deleted when you remove Spotify from your computer.

The files below remain on your disk when you remove Spotify:
  • C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\Spotify\spotify.exe

Use regedit.exe to manually remove from the Windows Registry the data below:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Spotify.m4a
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Spotify.m4p
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Spotify.mp3
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Spotify.mp4

Open regedit.exe in order to delete the following values:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Spotify.m4a\shell\open\command\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Spotify.m4p\shell\open\command\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Spotify.mp3\shell\open\command\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Spotify.mp4\shell\open\command\


A way to erase Spotify from your computer using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

Spotify is an application by Spotify AB. Frequently, people want to erase it. 6. Scroll the list of applications until you find Spotify or simply activate the Search feature and type in "Spotify". If it exists on your system the Spotify application will be found very quickly. Notice that after you click Spotify in the list of programs, some data regarding the program is shown to you:


  • Safety rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other people have regarding Spotify, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Reviews by other people - Press the Read reviews button.
  • Details regarding the application you want to uninstall, by pressing the Properties button.
For instance you can see that for Spotify:





  • The publisher is: http://www.spotify.com
  • The uninstall string is: C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Spotify\Spotify.exe
7. Click the Uninstall button. A window asking you to confirm will show up. accept the uninstall by pressing Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically remove Spotify.

8. After uninstalling Spotify, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run an additional cleanup. Press Next to start the cleanup. All the items that belong Spotify that have been left behind will be found and you will be able to delete them.
