A way to uninstall Slack from your computer

Slack is a Windows application. Read below about how to remove it from your computer. The Windows release was developed by Slack Technologies. Check out here for more details on Slack Technologies. Usually the Slack program is found in the C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\slack folder, depending on the user's option during setup. The full command line for removing Slack is C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\slack\Update.exe. Keep in mind that if you will type this command in Start / Run Note you may be prompted for admin rights. slack.exe is the Slack's primary executable file and it takes about 318.02 KB (325648 bytes) on disk.

Some files and registry entries are frequently left behind when you remove Slack.

Use regedit.exe to manually remove from the Windows Registry the keys below:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\slack
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\slack


How to delete Slack from your computer with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

6. Navigate the list of programs until you find Slack or simply activate the Search feature and type in "Slack". If it is installed on your PC the Slack application will be found automatically. When you click Slack in the list of apps, some information about the application is available to you:


  • Star rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other people have about Slack, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Reviews by other people - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Technical information about the application you wish to remove, by clicking on the Properties button.
7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will appear. accept the uninstall by clicking the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then uninstall Slack.

8. After uninstalling Slack, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run an additional cleanup. Press Next to go ahead with the cleanup. All the items that belong Slack which have been left behind will be detected and you will be able to delete them. By removing Slack using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no Windows registry entries, files or directories are left behind on your PC.
