How to uninstall Rufus from your computer

If you're planning to uninstall Rufus you should check if the following data is left behind on your PC.

Folders left behind when you uninstall Rufus:

The files below are left behind on your disk by Rufus's application uninstaller when you removed it:

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following keys will not be uninstalled; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Rufus_is1

Open regedit.exe in order to remove the following registry values:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Program Files (x86)\Rufus\rufus-2.17.exe

How to delete Rufus from your PC using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

Rufus is a program marketed by the software company RePack by Andreyonohov. Some people choose to remove it. This is easier said than done because removing this by hand takes some know-how regarding PCs. One of the best EASY manner to remove Rufus is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take the following steps on how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO on your Windows PC, install it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is an efficient uninstaller and all around tool to optimize your Windows PC.

• download the setup by clicking on the green DOWNLOAD NOW button
• set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO

2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take your time to get familiar with Advanced Uninstaller PRO's interface and number of tools available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good Windows optimizer.

3. Click on the General Tools button


4. Click on the Uninstall Programs feature


5. All the programs installed on the PC will appear

6. Scroll the list of programs until you find Rufus or simply click the Search field and type in "Rufus". The Rufus application will be found automatically. When you click Rufus in the list , some data about the program is available to you:

• Safety rating (in the left lower corner). This explains the opinion other users have about Rufus, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Opinions by other users - Click on the Read reviews button.
• Technical information about the program you want to remove, by clicking on the Properties button.

For instance you can see that for Rufus:

• The software company is: http://rufus.akeo.ie/
• The uninstall string is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Rufus\unins001.exe

7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation window will come up. Confirm the removal by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then uninstall Rufus.


8. After uninstalling Rufus, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Click Next to go ahead with the cleanup. All the items of Rufus that have been left behind will be detected and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By uninstalling Rufus using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no Windows registry items, files or directories are left behind on your disk.
