How to uninstall Recuva from your computer

Recuva is a computer program. If you are manually uninstalling Recuva we advise you to verify if the following data is left behind on your PC.

Check for and remove the following files from your disk when you uninstall Recuva:
  • C:\Program Files\Recuva\Recuva.exe

Registry that is not uninstalled:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Tracing\recuva_RASAPI32
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Tracing\recuva_RASMANCS


A way to delete Recuva from your computer using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

Recuva is an application released by Piriform. Some people want to remove it. Sometimes this can be troublesome because removing this manually requires some experience regarding PCs. 1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO on your system, add it. This is a good step because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very potent uninstaller and all around utility to take care of your computer.

  • download the program by pressing the DOWNLOAD button
  • set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take your time to get familiar with Advanced Uninstaller PRO's interface and number of tools available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very useful system optimizer.

3. Press the General Tools button

4. Activate the Uninstall Programs tool

5. A list of the programs existing on the computer will appear

6. Navigate the list of programs until you find Recuva or simply activate the Search feature and type in "Recuva". If it is installed on your PC the Recuva app will be found automatically. Notice that after you select Recuva in the list of applications, some data about the program is shown to you:


  • Star rating (in the left lower corner). This tells you the opinion other users have about Recuva, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Reviews by other users - Press the Read reviews button.
  • Details about the program you wish to remove, by pressing the Properties button.
7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation window will come up. Confirm the uninstall by clicking the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then remove Recuva.

8. After uninstalling Recuva, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run an additional cleanup. Click Next to perform the cleanup. All the items of Recuva that have been left behind will be detected and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By uninstalling Recuva using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no registry entries, files or folders are left behind on your computer.

Your computer will remain clean, speedy and ready to serve you properly.
