A guide to uninstall PocketCloud from your system

PocketCloud is a Windows program. Read below about how to remove it from your PC. The Windows release was created by Wyse Technology. Further information on Wyse Technology can be seen here. Please open if you want to read more on PocketCloud on Wyse Technology's web page. Usually the PocketCloud application is to be found in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Wyse\PocketCloud directory, depending on the user's option during install. The complete uninstall command line for PocketCloud is MsiExec.exe /X{AAF1E996-6AE6-4684-88A8-41F4E98E2899}. PocketCloud's primary file takes about 669.63 KB (685704 bytes) and its name is PocketCloudDesktopApp.exe.

PocketCloud is comprised of the following executables which occupy 3.53 MB (3698032 bytes) on disk:

  • ConfigUtility.exe (40.63 KB)
  • PocketCloudDesktopApp.exe (669.63 KB)
  • PocketCloudService.exe (15.80 KB)
  • tvnviewer.exe (1.39 MB)
  • Updater.exe (49.30 KB)

PocketCloud has the habit of leaving behind some leftovers.

Folders found on disk after you uninstall PocketCloud from your computer:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Wyse\PocketCloud

The files below remain on your disk when you remove PocketCloud:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Wyse\PocketCloud\aethercommonlib.dll
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Wyse\PocketCloud\aetherhelperlib.dll
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Wyse\PocketCloud\AetherIconHelper.dll
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Wyse\PocketCloud\AetherServiceLib.dll

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following keys will not be uninstalled; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Assemblies\C:|Program Files (x86)|Wyse|PocketCloud|aethercommonlib.dll
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Assemblies\C:|Program Files (x86)|Wyse|PocketCloud|aetherhelperlib.dll
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Assemblies\C:|Program Files (x86)|Wyse|PocketCloud|AetherIconHelper.dll
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Assemblies\C:|Program Files (x86)|Wyse|PocketCloud|AetherServiceLib.dll

Open regedit.exe in order to delete the following registry values:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{AAF1E996-6AE6-4684-88A8-41F4E98E2899}\InstallLocation
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\Application\WyseRemoteAccess\CategoryMessageFile
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\Application\WyseRemoteAccess\EventMessageFile
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\Application\WyseRemoteAccess\ParameterMessageFile


A way to remove PocketCloud with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

PocketCloud is an application marketed by Wyse Technology. Frequently, users try to remove this application. Sometimes this is easier said than done because performing this manually takes some advanced knowledge related to PCs. The best QUICK practice to remove PocketCloud is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO on your Windows system, add it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is one of the best uninstaller and general utility to take care of your Windows system.

  • download the setup by clicking on the green DOWNLOAD button
  • set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take some time to get familiar with Advanced Uninstaller PRO's interface and number of functions available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good system utility.

3. Click on the General Tools button

4. Press the Uninstall Programs tool

5. A list of the programs existing on your PC will be made available to you

6. Navigate the list of programs until you find PocketCloud or simply activate the Search feature and type in "PocketCloud". If it exists on your system the PocketCloud program will be found very quickly. Notice that when you click PocketCloud in the list of apps, some information regarding the program is shown to you:


  • Safety rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating explains the opinion other people have regarding PocketCloud, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other people - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Technical information regarding the program you are about to uninstall, by clicking on the Properties button.
For instance you can see that for PocketCloud:





  • The publisher is: http://www.wyse.com
  • The uninstall string is: MsiExec.exe /X{AAF1E996-6AE6-4684-88A8-41F4E98E2899}
7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation page will appear. Confirm the removal by pressing the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically uninstall PocketCloud.

8. After uninstalling PocketCloud, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run an additional cleanup. Press Next to perform the cleanup. All the items of PocketCloud that have been left behind will be found and you will be able to delete them. By removing PocketCloud with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no Windows registry items, files or folders are left behind on your disk.

Your Windows system will remain clean, speedy and ready to serve you properly.
