Pidgin has the habit of leaving behind some leftovers.

Directories found on disk:

Generally, the following files are left on disk:

• C:\Program Files (x86)\Pidgin\ca-certs\AddTrust_External_Root.pem
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Pidgin\ca-certs\America_Online_Root_Certification_Authority_1.pem
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Pidgin\ca-certs\AOL_Member_CA.pem
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Pidgin\ca-certs\Baltimore_CyberTrust_Root.pem

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following data will not be removed; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:

• HKEY_CURRENT_UserName\Software\pidgin
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Pidgin
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\pidgin

Open regedit.exe in order to remove the following registry values:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\aim\DefaultIcon\
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\aim\shell\Open\command\
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Program Files (x86)\Pidgin\pidgin.exe
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\msnim\DefaultIcon\
