How to uninstall Hardcopy from your PC

Hardcopy is a software application. If you are manually uninstalling Hardcopy we recommend you to verify if the following data is left behind on your PC.

Folders left behind when you uninstall Hardcopy:

  • C:\Programme\Hardcopy

The files below remain on your disk by Hardcopy's application uninstaller when you removed it:
  • C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\All Users\Startmenü\Programme\Autostart\Hardcopy.LNK
  • C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\All Users\Startmenü\Programme\Hardcopy - Bildschirmausdruck\Hardcopy.LNK
  • C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\All Users\Startmenü\Programme\Hardcopy - Bildschirmausdruck\LiesMich.LNK
  • C:\Programme\Hardcopy\AWCODC32.DLL

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following keys will not be cleaned; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.hcd
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.hcp
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Hardcopy
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\sw4you\Hardcopy

Open regedit.exe in order to remove the following values:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Hardcopy\DefaultIcon\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Hardcopy\shell\open\command\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Hardcopy\shell\print\command\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Hardcopy\shell\printto\command\


A way to remove Hardcopy from your computer with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

3. Click on the General Tools category

5. All the applications existing on your PC will be shown to you

6. Scroll the list of applications until you find Hardcopy or simply click the Search field and type in "Hardcopy". The Hardcopy application will be found automatically. When you select Hardcopy in the list of applications, some data regarding the program is made available to you:


  • Star rating (in the left lower corner). This tells you the opinion other people have regarding Hardcopy, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Reviews by other people - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Details regarding the app you want to uninstall, by clicking on the Properties button.
7. Click the Uninstall button. A window asking you to confirm will come up. accept the removal by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically remove Hardcopy.

8. After uninstalling Hardcopy, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run an additional cleanup. Click Next to go ahead with the cleanup. All the items of Hardcopy which have been left behind will be detected and you will be able to delete them.
