A way to uninstall Google Earth from your system

Google Earth is a software application. This page holds details on how to uninstall it from your PC. The Windows version was developed by Google. You can find out more on Google or check for application updates here. More information about the software Google Earth can be seen at . Usually the Google Earth program is placed in the C:\Program Files\Google\Google Earth folder, depending on the user's option during setup. Google Earth's entire uninstall command line is MsiExec.exe /I{1E04F83B-2AB9-4301-9EF7-E86307F79C72}. Google Earth's main file takes around 68.00 KB (69632 bytes) and its name is googleearth.exe.

Google Earth is comprised of the following executables which take 560.00 KB (573440 bytes) on disk:

  • googleearth.exe (68.00 KB)
  • gpsbabel.exe (492.00 KB)

Some files and registry entries are regularly left behind when you remove Google Earth.

You should delete the folders below after you uninstall Google Earth:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Google Earth
  • C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Google Earth

The files below were left behind on your disk by Google Earth's application uninstaller when you removed it:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Google Earth\alchemy\dx\libIGAttrs.dll
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Google Earth\alchemy\dx\libIGGfx.dll
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Google Earth\alchemy\dx\libIGSg.dll
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Google Earth\alchemy\ogl\libIGAttrs.dll

Many times the following registry keys will not be uninstalled:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.kml
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.kmz
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Google Earth.kmlfile
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Google Earth.kmzfile

Additional registry values that are not removed:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{00AB1EF0-C172-11DD-AD8B-0800200C9A66}\InprocServer32\

How to uninstall Google Earth using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

Google Earth is an application marketed by Google. Sometimes, users try to remove this application. This can be easier said than done because uninstalling this by hand takes some knowledge related to removing Windows applications by hand. One of the best QUICK practice to remove Google Earth is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take the following steps on how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO on your system, install it. This is a good step because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is an efficient uninstaller and all around tool to maximize the performance of your system.

  • download the setup by clicking on the green DOWNLOAD button
  • install Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take your time to get familiar with the program's interface and number of features available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good program.

3. Click on the General Tools category

5. A list of the programs existing on the PC will be shown to you

6. Navigate the list of programs until you locate Google Earth or simply activate the Search field and type in "Google Earth". If it exists on your system the Google Earth app will be found very quickly. When you click Google Earth in the list , some information regarding the application is shown to you:


  • Safety rating (in the left lower corner). This tells you the opinion other people have regarding Google Earth, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Reviews by other people - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Details regarding the program you are about to uninstall, by clicking on the Properties button.

  • The web site of the program is: http://earth.google.com
  • The uninstall string is: MsiExec.exe /I{1E04F83B-2AB9-4301-9EF7-E86307F79C72}
7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will appear. Confirm the uninstall by pressing Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically uninstall Google Earth.

8. After uninstalling Google Earth, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Press Next to proceed with the cleanup. All the items that belong Google Earth which have been left behind will be found and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By removing Google Earth with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no Windows registry items, files or directories are left behind on your disk.
