How to uninstall Google Chrome from your computer

Google Chrome is a Windows application. Read more about how to remove it from your computer. It was coded for Windows by Google Inc‎.‎. Go over here for more details on Google Inc‎.‎. Google Chrome is frequently set up in the C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application directory, however this location can differ a lot depending on the user's option when installing the application. Google Chrome's full uninstall command line is "C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\43.0.2357.37\Installer\setup.exe" --uninstall --multi-install --chrome --system-level --verbose-logging. chrome.exe is the Google Chrome's main executable file and it occupies around 794.82 KB (813896 bytes) on disk.

The following executables are installed together with Google Chrome. They occupy about 5.33 MB (5588072 bytes) on disk.

If you are manually uninstalling Google Chrome we advise you to check if the following data is left behind on your PC.

Folders that were found:
  • C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome
  • C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Google Chrome

The files below are left behind on your disk when you remove Google Chrome:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe
  • C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome SxS\User Data\Default\Extensions\ahociifglgefjbghidhofhegfailcefm\2.0\background.html

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following keys will not be cleaned; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Chrome
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Clients\StartMenuInternet\Google Chrome
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Google\Chrome
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Google\Chrome

Open regedit.exe to remove the values below from the Windows Registry:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ChromeHTML\DefaultIcon\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ChromeHTML\shell\open\command\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{42042206-2D85-11D3-8CFF-005004838597}\Old Icon\ChromeHTML\DefaultIcon\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{5C65F4B0-3651-4514-B207-D10CB699B14B}\LocalServer32\
